Dubai: Waterpark sets new Guinness World Record

  A quaventure World, Dubai's premier waterpark and a record-holder for the most waterslides in a single location, has achieved yet another milestone during the Guinness World Records Tour Challenge last weekend. This time, the park set a new Guinness World Records title for the most nationalities on a waterslide in one hour, with an incredible 90 nationalities taking the plunge on the iconic "Leap of Faith" slide. The record-setting weekend also featured a stunning feat by Emirati athlete Manea Al Marzooqi, who smashed the Guinness World Records title for the Most backflips on a flyboard in one minute, completing 41 backflips and surpassing the previous record of 30. Manea, renowned for his passion for water sports, has consistently ranked among the top in the DIMC U.A.E. National Championships in 2016 and 2017.   It looks like we could be in for a fair few long weekends… UAE Cabinet resolution No. 27 of 2024, published in the Official Gazette (the sanctioned dispatch of laws and decrees issued by the UAE Government) details the government’s plans for both public and private holidays in 2025. What are the UAE public holidays for 2025? The UAE public and private sector holidays confirmed for 2025 will include: As has been the tradition in recent years, a one-day holiday on January 1 (Wednesday), 2025, celebrating the Gregorian New Year A three-day holiday for Eid Al Fitr from Shawwal 1-3 (moon sighting dependent). An extra day may be added if Ramadan completes 30 days. There will be one day off for Arafat Day (Dhu Al Hijjah 9) and three further days for Eid Al Adha (Dhu Al Hijjah 10 to 12). One day will be given for Islamic New Year (falling on Muharram 1,  Gregorian Calendar date to be confirmed).   The playful lifestyle hotel will be the first Moxy in the UAE… The Dubai hotel landscape is growing. The stylish and fun Moxy hotel brand is due to open in the city next summer, and it’s heading to the central location of Al Barsha. The hotel will be the first of its kind in the UAE and aims to bring a fun and stylish flair with buzzing social spaces and its well-known industrial design. Marriott International and Al Ali Property Investments (API) are behind the hotel’s opening, announcing that it will be a conversion and refurbishment of an existing building structure in Al Barsha with easy access to Sheikh Zayed Road and the metro. The hotel will also be close to the Mall of the Emirates, so guests can take a trip to the shops or the ski slopes if they please.
